Ricky dreams of making the band ‘Staff Benda Bilili’ the best music group Kinshasa has yet seen. The musicians cruise the streets in their custom made ‘Mad Max’ wheelchairs. They are the stars of the ‘cite’, which Roger, a street-boy, keenly wants to be part of. Through singing and dancing, the boys try to survive life on the streets, to escape its misery and dangers, and instead search for hope in music. For five years, Staff Benda Bilili’s journey was captured, from their first repetition to their success at various festivals across the world. Benda Bilili tells of a dream that came true.
