Bram Fischer

1963, in apartheid-ruled South Africa. One afternoon, 8 members of the ANC are arrested. A ninth person, priorly arrested, is added to this group: Nelson Mandela. The white regime, worried about the growing unrest against apartheid, wants to set the group as an example. They will do anything to get them convicted to the death penalty. The renowned lawyer Bram Fischer takes on defending the group. What the regime does not know is that Fischer should have been the tenth suspect: he is actively involved in the underground resistance. When the secret police gradually discovers Bram Fischer's double role, he faces a moral dilemma: does he keep on defending the nine arrested men or does he choose for his own safety and that of his family?
