Touda has one big dream: becoming a sheikha, a traditional singer who performs songs about love, resistance and emancipation. Every night she plays in gloomy bars in her village, but above all she hopes to make a blazing career in Casablanca. Only then will she be able to secure a better future for her and her son. Despite much opposition from conservative men, she continues to pursue her dream.  

With Everybody Loves Touda, Nabil Ayouch brings a compelling and musical portrait about the position of women in Morocco. The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and was selected as the Moroccan entry for the 97th Academy Awards.
