Ombre, België, 18 min., French spoken
Produced by Afrikan Diaspora Cinema, Ombre is a set of series/films with codes of Blaxploitation.
Here we follow Ombre, a hit man trying to get out of the business after his wife's death. Decides to take on one final big mission that will earn him a big amount of money, enough to lead a comfortable life...quickly enough he realises that it's not that easy.
Flashy with as example the Hollywood gangster movies, this series testifies that new important filmmakers are born.

(WHITE MEN KILLED BLACK MEN, TONIGHT I'LL KILL A WHITE MAN)
Inspired by a true story. Afrikan Diaspora Cinema (ADC) dares to talk about subjects that are avoided by a lot of people.
Also here the element of surprise plays an important role. Inventive and great performances! We want to see more of ADC. You'll judge by yourself.

Monique Mbeka Phoba spent part of her childhood in Congo-Kinshasa, where witchcraft plays an integral part in people’s lives. She then went to live in Belgium. There, her parents decided against telling her about witchcraft She became a stranger to her own culture. How is a personality constructed and what values can we refer to when a person lives in a Western environment, but within a family structure in which the traditional cultural references are present but remain unexplained? It is this question, and many others, that the director will try to answer by undertaking this journey back to her roots. Ranging from the daily practices of witchcraft in Congo-Kinshasa to the frank and surprising clashes between Monique Mbeka Phoba and the people close to her, the film follows the rhythm of its maker’s search.

Entre la coup et l'élection, 2008, 56 min
Looking for a myth, “The Leopards of Zaire”, in contemporary Congo. They were the first black African soccer team ever to take part in a world cup.Two young Congolese filmmakers decide to make a documentary to leave an everlasting memory of the national team which in 1974 took part in the World Cup: it was the first African national team to get through the selection for the World Cup! Today the wizards of the ball have been forgotten and some have already sunk into poverty. The two student filmmakers decide to deal with this subject precisely when the first political elections are held: another memorable time in the history of Congo. Old and new dreams meet in a country which after 40 years of dictatorship and endless civil wars is in a state of total decline.
