Gangway to a Future

In the summer of 2017, a group of inexperienced idealists met in the port of Rotterdam. They are preparing an old fishing boat to pick up boat refugees along the coast of Libya. The restoration of the ship induces the necessary discussions: is the former fish store suitable for use as an infirmary? Should there be a cold store for the deceased? Once on the road to Libya, the crew quickly spot overcrowded refugee boats at sea, but the question is whether they will get to Europe. The real work can now begin. Gangway to a Future shows the realistic and raw image of people hoping for a better life in Europe.
