Ikoce Volume I

Ikoce is a cultural preformance that arose as a reaction to socio-political changes in Northern Uganda in the 1940s, the most important the recruitment of Lango men into the King's African Rifles fighting for the British Empire during WWII. Decades later, until the 1990s, Ikoce was an artistic tool for social commentary, satire and entertainment. Residents of a small town in Uganda tell what this cultural heritage means to them.
