The African who wanted to fly tells the extraordinary life of Luc Bendza, a young Gabonese who dreamed of flying like the fighters in martial arts films. He moved to China in the 1980s and with determination and perseverance he realized his dream: today he is master in the Queen of Kung Fu discipline ‘Wushu’. Former student at the legendary Shaolin temple, he became a movie star. He acts in several films alongside Jackie Chan. Luc Bendza becomes a bearer for the Chinese authorities who are aware that he is an outstanding symbol of the opening of China to the world, starting with Africa.
