Le Bleu du Caftan

Halim has long been married to Mina, with whom he runs a traditional kaftan shop in the medina of Salé, Morocco. Although they seem like the perfect couple to the outside world, they live with a deep secret: Halim's homosexuality. Together, they have found a way to live with it. But Mina's illness and the arrival of a young student will upset this balance. United in their love, each will help the other to face their fears.

Our opening film is also among the Artist in Focus selection, focussing on Belgian Moroccan actress Lubna Azabal, also known for Incendies (2010), Adam (2019) en Rebel (2022). In this poignant, warm and universal film, Azabal shows that love can take different forms.
