Zina and Djo, both in their twenties, return to Tunisia from the Syrian front where they were sequestrated and raped. Zina has been separated from her two-month-old child. Djo finds out she’s pregnant and plunges into mutism and only talks about her Syrian horror through the novel she is writing. Nadia, a lawyer, Dora, a humanitarian doctor, and Driss, a young homosexual expelled from all schools, assist them in their long and difficult reconstruction. Will they open their black boxes and stand up to the unjust society?
