Macadam tribu

After the death of her husband, mama Bavusi lives alone with her two sons. The two brothers and their friend Duka hang out in the streets and bars of a large African city. In fact, this should have been Kinshasa, but because of the war in Congo and the end of the Mobutu regime, the director chose to film in Mali. Mama Bavusi tries to survive with a small food stall in front of her door. Duka is preparing a major boxing match. It will completely change the life of the family. It gives us a view on violence and on art and culture. A film about solidarity in an urbanized Africa. With beautiful music by Papa Wemba and Tito Puente!

The film went into premiere at Cannes in 1996
