Aida, eight years old, lives in an apartment in the suburbs of Paris. The day her father returns from his trip to Senegal, their country of origin, Aida's life and that of her whole family is completely turned upside down: her father did not come back alone. He is accompanied by Rama, a young Senegalese woman, whom he introduces as his second wife.
