Meniscus follows a young boy through his ordinary day, building to the climatic conclusion of visiting his father in prison. Whether moving on foot, by rail or in a taxi, Thulani is on a constant spatial exploration. Buildings, commuters and barbed wire make up his ever-changing environment. The narrative peaks with Thulani's emotional moments with his father in jail, where themes relating to barriers, control and freedom are crystallised.
