(Time is on our Side) October 2014. What nobody dared to dream, happened. The ‘Balai Citoyen’ (‘Citizens’ Broom’) revolt led to the overthrow of Burkina Faso’s dictator, Blaise Compaoré, the man who saw himself as president for life. Rapper Serge Bambara, aka Smockey, was one of the insurgents. He is now seen as one of the orchestrators of this political change. The film takes the audience through his daily life as leader and artist, inspired by Thomas Sankara.
