Tantalum

Tantalum—also known as coltan—is mined in eastern Congo. After a piece of this rare metal ends up in military equipment, it first travels to a landfill in Ghana and then ends up in space. The film allows the viewer to follow this unlikely journey and encourages critical reflection on technology, colonization, politics, and economics.
