Spoken: Afrikaans. Subtitles: English.

In 1959 in Old Location – an area segregated for Black residents of Windhoek, the capital of Namibia – an uprising took place that shook South West Africa.  In 1963, soon after the uprising, a black maid’s life is changed forever when she encounters an Afrikaner police officer on a routine passbook check. Their illicit love for each other grows over time through the letters they write to each other, and they endure many obstacles beyond their different skin colors. A story of hope borne from love grown in a forbidding time.
