The Schoolmaster
After World War II, a Polish teacher (Jurgen Prochnow) ends up in South Africa. He must teach in a small remote village school to the children of the "bijwoners" (descendants of the first Dutch settlers). However, the English landlords look down on these "foreigners" and the Kaffirs (blacks). The teacher, who has personally experienced the effects of racial discrimination in Europe, tries to communicate the principles of equality among the locals. It leads to a tragedy.
A film that openly denounces apartheid in South Africa and hereby refers to Nazi racism.
